Give Me Jesus
Text and Music: Traditional African-American Spiritual
Oh when I come to die
Oh when I come to die
Oh when I come to die
Give me Jesus
Give me Jesus
You may have the world
Give me Jesus
I heard my mother say
I heard my mother say
I heard my mother say
Give me Jesus
Give me Jesus
You may have the world
Give me Jesus
Dark midnight was my cry
Dark midnight was my cry
Dark midnight was my cry
Give me Jesus
Give me Jesus
You may have the world
Give me Jesus
In the morning when I rise
In the morning when I rise
In the morning when I rise
Give me Jesus
Give me Jesus
You may have the world
Give me Jesus
I heard the mourner say
I heard the mourner say
I heard the mourner say
Give me Jesus
Give me Jesus
You may have the world
Give me Jesus

Psalmist!
These have been great. I've been uber busy these past few days, so I've left fewer comments, but i've been reading them. It's a good thing. Thanks.

I am enjoying your Lenten posts so much--I just came and got caught up. Happy belated birthday, and thank you for your post on that day.
We (our choir) sang the Moses Hogan arrangement of "Give Me Jesus" at the funeral of a fourteen-year-old boy, and I will never forget it.
I love this one. One of my all-time favorite hymns. Thanks for posting all of these, Psalmy. I've been enjoying them.
